Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed according to package directions
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves
  • 2 cups vanilla frozen yogurt or ice cream

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Roll out puff pastry into a rectangle, about 12 by 15 inches. Spread preserves over the dough, to within 1/2-inch of the edges. Fold dough in half lengthwise. Gently roll again to seal edges. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut dough crosswise into 1/2-inch thick strips. Take each strip by the ends and tie into a knot. Arrange knots on a large baking sheet and press down the ends. Bake 6 to 10 minutes, until puffed up and golden brown.

Scoop frozen yogurt or ice cream into dessert bowls and lay twists over top.

    Delicious, but messy

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
These are a pretty little dessert for any night of the week. They're elegant enough to entertain, but easy enough to whip up... if you're just feeling snacky. Like other reviewers, I had some trouble tying the knots. I used jelly instead of preserves, so that might be part of the problem. While I was tying the knots, the filling was squishing out and the pastry was slipping around. But in the end, they were beautiful and tasty!Read more

    Delicious...as twists

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
I agree with the other poster about tying these in knots. I gave up after three and just did twists and they turned out great... (and were less fussy to prepare that way). I also gave them an egg wash and sprinkled sugar on them before putting them in the oven. I used blood orange marmalade instead of apricot preserves and they were a HIT this morning with coffee. Definitely something I'll make again, but I'll keep twisting, not tying.Read more

    A little messy but Delicious

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
Perhaps I am not the sharpest crayon in the box, but I couldn't figure out how to tie these into knots. I cute them... crosswise and not only were the preserves coming out of the sides, but they were too short to tie in knots, so I just made twists. I thought this recipe tasted really good, but I'm giving it 4 stars based on directions.Read more
