Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian or French bread, halved crosswise
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (regular or part-skim)

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Brush olive oil all over bottom half of bread. Sprinkle garlic over oil. Top with cheese and close bread, as if making a sandwich.

Wrap bread in foil and bake 10 to 15 minutes, until cheese melts.

    Made it like the recipe called for, used a main chain garlic butter sauce and brused it on before layering the cheese which I used mozzarella slices made it extra gooey.

    This a great substitute for the standard garlic bread with pasta! It's easy, cheesy good! I just used bagged shredded cheese. It worked fine.
