This recipe is a twist on my mom’s classic crab and cheese appetizer that she would make for my dad’s poker nights. She would make a larger cheese ball, but I’m turning her recipe into an easy-to-eat appetizer. These come together quickly and are ideal for making in advance.
Add the cream cheese, crabmeat, horseradish, ketchup, lemon zest and juice, Worcestershire, salt, pepper and green onions to a mixing bowl. Use a spatula to mix the ingredients together until everything is evenly combined.
Spray your hands with nonstick cooking spray. Use a tablespoon-sized scoop to scoop 1 tablespoon of the mixture into your hands and gently roll into a ball. Place on a serving platter. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
Mix the chives and dill together in a small bowl. Sprinkle the herbs on top of the bites. Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours before serving.
