Affogato

An Italian-inspired coffee dessert.

Ingredients

2 scoops gelato or ice cream, vanilla bean, chocolate or coffee flavored

2 shots hot espresso or 1/2 cup strong black coffee

Freshly grated nutmeg, optional

Directions

  1. Set out two glasses and place a scoop of ice cream in each. Pour over the hot espresso or black coffee and top with a grating of fresh nutmeg, if desired. Serve immediately with small spoons.
