Apple Cider Syrup

Sticky and sweet, this apple cider syrup can be put on anything you would like.

Ingredients

1/2 cup (106 grams) brown sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg

1 1/2 cups (375 milliliters) apple cider

2 tablespoons lemon juice

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

Directions

  1. Add the brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg in a small saucepan and whisk to combine. Whisk in the apple cider and lemon juice and place over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring frequently until the mixture has thickened, 5 to 6 minutes. Whisk in the butter and keep the syrup warm over low heat until ready to serve.
