8 medium Cortland or other cooking apples

1 cup flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Peel, core, and cut the apples into thin slices. Place them in a 9 by 13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the mixture over the apples, and bake until apples are tender, about 30 to 35 minutes. Serve warm or cold.

Simple and easy. Was surprised that with the low number of ingredients how tasty it was. Probably with different apples you end up with different consistency after they are cooked. My wife used golden delicious apples and it turned out fine. Can't wait for her to make it again.
