Ingredients

1 pound Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

2 teaspoons ground cumin

2 teaspoons garlic salt

2 teaspoons smoked paprika

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon kosher salt

24 medium chicken drumsticks

Neutral oil, for deep-frying

Hot sauce, such as Frank's, as needed

Melted unsalted butter, as needed

Blue cheese dressing, for serving

Directions

Special equipment:
a deep fryer
  1. Combine the yogurt, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, garlic salt, smoked paprika, black pepper and kosher salt in a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Add the drumsticks and turn to coat. Marinate overnight (at least 12 hours) in the fridge.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  3. Remove the chicken from the marinade, place on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
  5. When ready to serve, fry the drumsticks until the skin is crispy, 3 to 5 minutes. Toss them with hot sauce and butter in a large bowl (use more butter than hot sauce for a mild heat and more hot sauce than butter for a spicier flavor). Serve with blue cheese dressing.
