Chocolate Hummus with Candied Bacon

Ingredients

Chocolate Hummus:

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Dash ground cinnamon

Dash salt 

One 15-ounce can garbanzo beans, rinsed 

Candied Bacon:

1 pound bacon

1 tablespoon brown sugar

Directions

  1. For the hummus: In the bowl of a food processor blend the cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond extract, cinnamon, salt and garbanzo beans. Add a little bit of water to adjust the consistency if needed.
  2. For the bacon: Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  3. Cook the bacon to desired doneness in the microwave or on the stovetop. Sprinkle the hot bacon with brown sugar then bake for 5 minutes.
  4. Dip the candied bacon in the chocolate hummus and enjoy!
