Ingredients
Nonstick cooking spray, for the pan
One 16-ounce pizza dough
2 ounces shredded mozzarella
1/2 ounce grated Parmesan
2 ounces Italian sausage
1/2 ounce diced crispy oregano potatoes (see Cook’s Note)
1 ounce julienne white onion
1/2 roasted red pepper, diced
2 ounces pizza sauce
Oregano and fresh basil, for sprinkling
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F with the oven rack in the middle of the oven.
- Spray a 9-by-12-inch sheet pan with cooking spray, then stretch the pizza dough into a rectangle on it. Spread the mozzarella evenly over the pizza dough, leaving about 1/2 inch for a crust. Sprinkle the Parmesan over the mozzarella. Distribute the sausage, crispy potatoes, onion and peppers evenly over the cheese. Spoon the pizza sauce on top diagonally in 4 to 5 lines. Sprinkle the pizza with oregano to taste. Place the pizza on the middle rack of the oven and cook for 5 minutes. Rotate the pan, checking the bottom and top of the pizza. Cook until both top and bottom are golden brown, another 7 to 10 minutes. Cut into 6 square slices and place fresh basil on top right before you serve it.
Cook’s Note
For crispy potatoes, you can use cooked and chopped up french fries seasoned with oregano. For the sausage, use your favorite Italian sausage, raw or cooked and chopped. For pizza sauce, use your own or favorite store-bought pizza sauce.
