Dry Rubbed Flank Steak

Ingredients

1 tablespoon ground mustard

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cayenne

1/4 teaspoon allspice

3 pounds flank steak

Directions

  1. Preheat a grill pan over high heat for 3 to 4 minutes
  2. Combine the mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, cayenne and allspice in a small bowl. Rub the flank steak all over with the mix and let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Put the steak on the hot grill and cook 5 minutes per side. Remove and let rest 10 minutes before slicing.

This a great rub! For all those commenting on the salt - did you have 3 lbs of steak? 1 tablespoon of salt is 3 teaspoons so that equates to one teaspoon per pound of steak - for most people who don't eat bland food (there are many Americans terrified of salt so I do get it) that ratio is perfectly balanced.
