Few things can satisfy a sweet craving like warm, rich, silky chocolate ganache. We used a combination of chocolate for a nicely balanced fondue that's perfect for dipping pound cake, fruit or pretzels.

Ingredients

8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped

8 ounces semisweet chocolate, roughly chopped

1 1/3 cups heavy cream

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Cubed pound cake, for dipping

Directions

  1. Combine the chocolates, heavy cream, butter and vanilla in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is just melted. Whisk until smooth and glossy.
  2. Transfer to a fondue pot and keep warm over low heat. Serve with pound cake.

It was good at first, but the amount of butter is too much. After transferring to the fondue pot, within 5 minutes, it began to pool and it became harder and harder to get it to stay unseparated. I think half the butter would work better.
