Espresso Hot Fudge

Espresso and dark chocolate are a classic pair. Here we make a rich fudge sauce using bittersweet chocolate. Instant espresso powder is stirred in with vanilla before cooling for a delicious mocha twist on this decadent hot fudge.

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream

4 tablespoons butter

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup corn syrup

Pinch salt

8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa power

2 tablespoons instant espresso powder

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Combine the cream, butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Whisk in the chocolate and cocoa powder until smooth, then stir in the espresso powder and vanilla; let cool. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
