Ingredients
1 cup water
1/2 cup canola oil
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1 cup raisins
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Combine liquids in a large pot and heat but do not boil.
- Mix the oats, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, walnuts, and almonds in a large bowl and slowly pour the dry mix into the hot liquid. Stir with a large spoon to combine well and then pour the mixture into a large roasting pan and place in the oven. Toast the mixture for 1 hour, stirring often to prevent burning.
- Remove from the oven and add the raisins. Allow to cool throughly before transferring to an airtight storage container. This will keep for 4 weeks when properly stored.
