Pecan Caramels ("Glorias")

Ingredients

VM0402H 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 (14-ounce) can condensed milk

2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract

1/2 cup pecans, roughly chopped

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium nonstick saucepan over medium heat. Add the condensed milk and vanilla and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture turns to a light caramel color (240 degrees F on a candy thermometer), about 25 minutes. Turn off the heat and incorporate the pecans. Let cool for about 8 minutes. Roll into 2-ounce pieces and wrap with parchment paper.

Part of what makes Gloria's great is the hint of goats milk, just the right amount of gamey flavor, and the crystalized sugar through out. Good easy recipe, but not "Gloria's". For that I give it 2 stars as it isn't a mimic of that which it claims to be.
