This is a classic cocktail for a reason. It hits all the notes for me, and is perfect with a good charred steak.

Ingredients

6 ounces bourbon

3 ounces sweet vermouth

3 ounces Campari

Large ice cubes, to serve

3 thick orange peels

Directions

  1. To a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the bourbon, vermouth and Campari. Shake until chilled, then pour into rocks glasses containing 1 large ice cube each. Serve each garnished with an orange peel.

Always looking for new cocktails, especially with ingredients I have on hand. I had to use Aperol instead of the Campari, but it was a terrific drink
