Jalapeno Simple Syrup:

1 cup sugar

1 jalapeno, halved and seeded

Mojitos:

1 cup fresh mint leaves

2 limes, halved

Club soda, for topping

9 ounces clear rum

Directions

  1. For the jalapeno simple syrup: Add the sugar, jalapeno and 1 cup water to a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. When the sugar is dissolved, remove from the heat and let cool for 1 hour. Remove the jalapeno before using.
  2. For the mojitos: Divide the mint leaves between two pitchers, and muddle. Squeeze the juice of 1 lime into each pitcher, then add the simple syrup, evenly divided. Fill the pitchers with ice and top off with club soda. Add the rum to one of the pitchers. Stir and serve.

I think this is just the very best all American show!! I love Nancy Fuller. I love her love for her family her fresh food and her cooking oh and of course her 'drinks'. My husband and I just recently retired and want to uddate our kitchen so we can have our 4 kids and 12 grandkids over for cooking and fun meals. I will be so excited to try her recipes and even some of her traditions. I love how she gives back to the community!!
