Ingredients

2 red apples, cored and sliced

1/4 cup dark brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 cup butter

1 package pie dough (recommended: Pillsbury)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Saute the apples in a medium pan over low heat with the brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and butter until the apples become tender. Place in small ramekin and cover it with a piece of dough to fit over the top of the ramekin. Cut off excess dough. Place the ramekin in a small water bath (a skillet with about a 1/4-inch of water), and bake for 35 minutes or until crust in golden brown.
