1 tablespoon minced fresh chives

1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder

1/4 teaspoon minced garlic

Star-shaped crackers, for serving

Directions

Special equipment:

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the panko and cook, stirring occasionally, until toasted. Add a pinch of salt and toss to combine. Let cool completely.
  2. Combine the sour cream, chives, onion powder, garlic and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a medium bowl. Stir well until combined.
  3. Fill a tall sand bucket with ice about three-quarters of the way to the top. Transfer the sour cream mixture to a bowl that will fit just inside the top of the sand bucket. Cover the sour cream dip with the toasted panko. Serve with a plastic shovel and lots of star-shaped crackers.
