Ingredients

4 russet potatoes, washed and scrubbed

1 cup leftover apple sauerkraut from the Turkey Sausage with Apple Sauerkraut recipe

2 leftover cooked sausages from the Turkey Sausage with Apple Sauerkraut recipe, finely chopped

1/2 cup shredded Cheddar

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Using a paring knife, poke 3 small slits into each potato. Bake in the oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove the potatoes from the oven and turn the oven temperature up to 425 degrees F. Let the potatoes cool for 5 minutes.
  3. Using a fork punch some holes in the top of each potato. Press inward on the ends of each potato so that the tops break open. Divide the apple sauerkraut evenly between the potatoes and then top them with the sausage and Cheddar. Arrange the potatoes on a sheet pan and bake until the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Remove from the oven to a serving platter and serve.

Pam, late bloomer chef

Rosemary makes a valid point when she says that we may be rating the website more than the recipe, and yes, we probably should use the "Contact" link to voice our complaints to the powers that be. -- Kinda makes you wonder if anyone at FN actually reads the reviews. Silly thought. They barely can accurately write a recipe let alone obviously read their own recipes and see all their mistakes. --I'd think that Sandra Lee and the other chefs might take a peek here now and then. It is frustrating to be sure, but reading the reviews on the website via the recipes is the only way any of us know that this happens a lot of us and it is not just one person.
