Teriyaki Pineapple Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

1 can (20 oz.) DOLE® Pineapple Slices

1/2 cup teriyaki sauce

2 pounds ground turkey or chicken

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1/2 cup panko bread crumbs

8 whole grain hamburger buns

8 slices Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

Directions

  1. Drain pineapple; reserve 1/2 cup juice. Reserve 2 pineapple slices for snack or other use.
  2. Stir together teriyaki sauce and reserved pineapple juice in small bowl.
  3. Mix together turkey, ginger, bread crumbs and 1/4 cup teriyaki mixture. Shape into 8 patties.
  4. Grill patties, brushing with remaining teriyaki mixture, until brown and cooked through. Place pineapple slices on grill and cook until lightly golden brown.
  5. Serve burgers on buns with cheese and pineapple.
  6. Tip: To make 4 servings, use 1 can (8 oz.) DOLE® Pineapple Slices and cut remaining ingredients in half.

THIS RECIPE IS A DISASTER! I have made a ton of turkey burgers on the grill before and have never added bread crumbs and they have always turned out perfect. Followed these instructions and the patties completely crumbled. Should have added an egg like another reviewer mentioned or not add the crumbs at all. At least my dogs are happy!!
