Trisha's Wedge Salad with Thousand Island Dressing

Ingredients

1 head iceberg lettuce 

1/2 cup mayonnaise 

3 tablespoons ketchup 

Dash of hot sauce, such as Tabasco

Pepper

Chips and pretzels, for serving, optional

Directions

  1. Wash the lettuce and remove any damaged or wilted outer leaves. Remove the lettuce core and discard. Cut the head into quarters and set it aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and the ketchup. Add the hot sauce and pepper to taste. Place a lettuce wedge on each serving plate. Drizzle with the dressing. Also serve dressing with chips and pretzels!

This same dressing is what my family called secret fish sauce. I dip everything from grilled salmon to fish sticks in it.  I'll have to try it on salad.<br />
