Try this guacamole with Fried Black Bean Filled Tortillas (Panuchos).

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados, peeled, pitted and diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 serrano chile, seeded, deveined and finely chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 white onion, chopped
  • Kosher salt
  • Tortilla chips or fresh veggies, for serving

Directions

In a medium mixing bowl, add the diced avocados and mash with a fork until smooth but still chunky. Add the cilantro, chile, lime juice and onion and mix to combine. Season with salt. Serve with tortilla chips or fresh veggies, etc.

    Wow! So easy and packed with flavor! I didnt have any onions so I just used onion powder and a little bit of garlic powder, turned out delish!

    This guacamole is a staple in our household - it is really easy and packed with flavor. Marcela's recipes never disappoint.

    I use a food processor to mince the onion, cilantro and jalapeno before adding to the avocados for a smoother consistency. I also use only 1/2 of a lime as it is a bit too much liquid with a whole lime.

    Loved this simple recipe. I substituted finely chopped jalapeno pepper instead of the serano chili. I grew up in California and this is so authentic in taste and texture. My mid-western friends and neighbors are so impressed when I serve this.
