Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed and chilled
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Put the flour, baking powder, and salt in a food processor and pulse briefly to mix. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture is crumbly. I really enjoyed these. I knew my kids wouldn't want the green onions, so I left them out and added some granulated garlic. Not great leftover, but good right out of the oven.

The green onions and parmesan cheese are a perfect combination. I only had baking soda available and it still worked. I had to add a tablespoon of greek yogurt and it worked. It was crumbly but still moist. I would bake it at a lower temperature next time though since I tend to make them bigger.

These were very bland biscuits even after I added garlic salt to the batter. The texture was terrible too. I will stick to my other biscuit recipe in the future, fewer ingredients and dishes to wash but much more flavor. I've loved every recipe I've made of Melissa's but this was a bust.
