    Questions

I love apple crisp, but I haven't tried this recipe yet. The directions don't say how many ramekins. It just so happens... that I don't have any of these little dishes so I'd like to know how many I should buy. Are they very expensive? Anything over a dollar, I probably can't afford. Better yet, how can we tweak this to make it a casserole dish? How big should the casserole dish be and how long should it bake? Thanks from us foodies who don't have all the little luxuries others do.Read more

    Easy to prepare... very tasty

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
My kids and I made this recipe a couple of times after we went apple picking. It is very easy to make and very, very, very... tasty! Instead of using individual cups to bake the crisp, we use a single 8" Pyrex square baking dish. It comes out great. This is a great dessert for a cool autumn afternoon. It's even better when served with vanilla ice cream. Read more

    Like a warm caramel apple

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
Made it for the first time today... family loved it! The recipe is very easy to follow and I didn't make a big mess. I did... not use the pecans due to a nut allergy in the family. For the topping, I added 1/3 cup of regular oatmeal for more texture. I only used 3 large granny smith apples and it made 6 individual sized ramekins. We ate it right out of the oven and topped it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The topping was crunchy and chewy and the apple filling really tasted like a warm caramel apple. Simply Delicious

We had several apples lying around from the local farmer's market and I decided to give this a try. What a great decision,... this is a wonderful and easy recipe! It was sweet and with a great variety of textures. Perfect for a fall evening. My only alteration was adding a sprinkle of nutmeg and decreasing the amount of sugar in the apple mix b/c I wasn't using baking apples. Great recipe and a great show! Read more

    Greatness

These were delicious! Served with vanilla ice cream, it didn't last too long. I used one less apple and it still worked. ... Everyone loved the crisp topping, I might incorporate a middle layer with it next time.Read more

    Delicious!!

I had used the same apple crisp for years thinking it was the best, and after making the Neely's apple crisp I now have a new... favorite. I followed the recipe exactly except I used 10 oz. ramekins which were too large for one serving. Give this recipe a try; you will not be disappointed. Read more
