  • 2 teaspoons salt-free citrus herb seasoning (recommended: Spice Islands)
  • 1/2 (10-ounce) jar fig preserves (recommended: St. Dalfour)
  • 1 (3-ounce) package prosciutto, cut into 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 egg

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Place the pie crust onto a baking sheet. Spread the cream cheese over the crust leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle with the citrus herb seasoning. Top with fig preserves. Fold border over fig spread and top with prosciutto strips.

I am no cook but his looked easy and I am having a party in October and wanted to make this. However, it tasted great thus the 4 rating but it wasn't as big as I thought it would be and I was only able to use 1/3 of the proscuitto it called for. Also it turned out soggy in the middle. Can one you you great cooks tell me what I did wrong? Did I use too much cream cheese, too much fig preserves, not cook long enough? Please help this novice.

I could not find the fig preserves so I substituted pear. Remembering that walnuts and blue cheese go well with pears, as well as prosciutto, I added both of them to the recipe, along with a little fresh thyme and lemon zest. Everyone at the party loved it!
