Swedish Brown Beans

Ingredients
  • 2 cups Swedish brown beans
  • 2 tablespoons Swedish vinegar ("attika"), or 4 tablespoons regular vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Lyle's Golden syrup
  • Salt, to taste
Directions

Soak beans overnight in salted beans in salted water (about a tablespoon of slat per liter of water). Drain and cover with new water in a pot. Bring to a boil and simmer until soft, about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Add vinegar and syrup, incorporate and serve.
