Specialty Dishes: Cod Cakes, Lobster Mac 'n' Cheese, Crab

The lobster here is extra fresh especially because the water for the aquariums is pumped directly from the ocean. The lobster mac 'n' cheese Guy called "ridiculous," while the cod cakes tasted like the "perfect storm." Locals like the crab and other seafood-inspired dishes as well.

This was our first time at Yankee Lobster Co. We went in to buy a live BIG lobster.  The restaurant was packed and the food looked great!  A guy took us back to the tanks and pulled out lobster after lobster giving us plenty to choose from.  He let us take our time and take pictures holding some of the lobsters. We ended up with a 13lb lobster!  The lobster was neatly packed in a shipping box with seaweed and ice and assurances that it would be just fine for our 2 hour drive home.  On the way out we got a container of their clam chowder to go.  It was wonderful!  Smooth, creamy and loaded with clams.  Oh yeah....we cooked the lobster last night and that was incredible too! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Yankee Lobster is some of the best seafood I have ever eaten. Fresh as can be since their dock is right off of the Harbor. Perfect Triple D Joint. I had the lobster, crab cakes, and lobster mac and cheese. It was insane good. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Yankee Lobster is an awesome restaurant. The best and freshest seafood. Location is small but that is what makes it great! My family and I can not wait to go back! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Having lived in New England for almost 20 years, I know there are plenty of excellent seafood restaurants in the area. While this one was okay, it fell far short of our expectations based on reviews, most of which I can only assume have been written by visitors to Boston who may not have access to noteworthy seafood on a regular basis. The best thing we ordered were the mussels. The calamari were average at best, and a laughably small portion for $9.99. The big disappointment was the fish and chips. Any pub in these parts will serve up a hunk of super fresh, perfectly fried crispy fish that just about covers the platter. This portion was about a third of that, which would have been fine had it been delectable. Sadly, it wasn't. Passable and certainly fresh, but not the best the area has to offer. At $65 + tip for 2 (including 2 glasses of wine and 2 bottles of water), it wasn't a great value. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Delicious! The lobster mac & cheese was great (of course), but you really can't beat the lobster roll....just delicious! It is a low key spot with AWESOME, friendly staff. We had a long-ish wait, but it was very pleasant. You will wait in line, but grab a table from someone as they leave as they are hard to come by! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Amazing food here!! I would like to see more on the menu though item not reviewed by moderator and published
The Yankee lobster company was one of the best seafood restaurants I have had the pleasure to enjoy. I have eaten seafood in many east coast areas and restaurants, but this place is the best place on earth. It is a have to every time I visit Boston! item not reviewed by moderator and published
