This is a delicious Garam Masala recipe. I have used it in Aarti's Chicken Tikka Masala recipe many times and have gotten rave reviews when I've served it.  It takes some time to shell the green cardamom pods, but I find it's worth it for the authentic flavor that it gives your recipes.  The black cardamom pods are easier to break open and have less seeds in them.
