First, the recipe mis-states the flavor of Marie Brizzard. I know this because on the show it was purple and that flavor is Parfait Amore. I emailed Food Network quite a while back, but they don't seem interested in changing it on the site. The Parfait Amore does have a base of mandarin as well, but is not the Mandarin Orange "flavor" of the brand, they are 2 different things. It is expensive ( about 25.00) and only better stores will carry it.Other recipes with this ingredient only use a touch in cocktails, so the bottle will last forever! Hopefully, you will like it. <br />Now, on to this recipe. I was interested because I love gin and loved the pretty purple color of his drink, but unless you like cough syrup, you may want to chose another drink. I've tried to doctor it up to make it tasty and it's just a lost cause. So disappointed since I saught out such an expensive ingredient.
