Ingredients
Hibiscus Simple Syrup:
1 cup sugar
2 hibiscus tea bags
Drink:
3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) bourbon (I like Virgil Kaine)
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice plus lemon wheels, for serving
Dried hibiscus flowers or other edible flowers, for garnish, optional
Directions
Special equipment:
cocktail shaker- Make the simple syrup: Heat the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan over high heat until boiling. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Let steep 10 minutes before removing the tea bags. Let cool.
- For each drink: Stir together 3 tablespoons simple syrup, the bourbon and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Pour over ice and garnish with lemon wheels and flowers, if desired.
