Ingredients

2 pounds 80/20 ground beef

2 tablespoons dark chili powder

2 tablespoons finely minced garlic

2 tablespoons hot sauce, such as Texas Pete

2 tablespoons seasoning salt

1 tablespoon beef base or bouillon

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper

1 small yellow onion, finely diced

One 6-ounce can tomato paste

Directions

  1. Combine the ground beef, chili powder, garlic, hot sauce, seasoning salt, beef base, cumin, pepper, onion and 1 cup water in a heavy-bottomed 4-quart stockpot and mix well. Cook the chili over medium-high heat until the ground beef is cooked, about 30 minutes. Whisk in the tomato paste, making sure to blend it into the chili well. Simmer until thickened and the tomato flavor is incorporated, about 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and serve over burgers!

Awesome! Ive been searching for a great chili for hotdogs. This is it! You don’t miss the beans or tomatoes, I made it as is and would make no changes. It wasn’t too salty or spicy. Next time i will add a touch more hot sauce for we like things a little spicy. This is now my go to chili, yummy!
