Ingredients
1 pound frozen strawberries
3/4 cup (180 grams) whole milk
1/2 cup (120 grams) Greek yogurt, whole milk or 2%
1/2 cup (113 grams/4 ounces) crumbled, vanilla-flavored halva
1/4 cup (64 grams) honey
1/4 cup (60 grams) tahini
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Pinch kosher salt
Seedy Candy Topping, recipe follows, for garnish
Sprinkles, for garnish
Seedy Candy Topping:
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Pinch kosher salt
1 tablespoon warm water
1/4 cup (35 grams) sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons (20 grams) flax seeds
2 tablespoons (20 grams) hemp seeds
1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
Directions
- In the blender, combine the strawberries, milk, yogurt, halva, honey, tahini, cocoa powder and salt and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and top with the Seedy Candy Topping and sprinkles. Serve immediately.
Seedy Candy Topping:
- Place an oven rack in the center position. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, dissolve the granulated sugar and salt in the water. Add the sunflower seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, and black and white sesame seeds and toss to coat. Spread out in a thin layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake until toasty, fragrant, and crisp, begin checking at 12 minutes. Allow to cool on the baking sheet, then break up into pieces.
