Healthy Cherry Almond Oatmeal Smoothie

A healthy summer breakfast on the go, this sweet and tart smoothie keeps you full longer thanks to extra fiber from the oats.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons 1-minute oats

1 1/2 cups frozen pitted sweet cherries

1/3 cup 0-percent Greek yogurt

2 teaspoons honey

1/8 teaspoon almond extract

Kosher salt

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, stir together the oats and 1/4 cup hot water, and rest for 5 minutes.
  2. In the pitcher of a blender, add the oat mixture, the cherries, yogurt, 2 tablespoons cold water, the honey, almond extract and a pinch of salt. Blend on high speed until very smooth. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.

Yummy!<br />I used honey Greek yogurt. <br />I used hot coffee instead of water to soak the oats in. <br />Added mocha protein powder. <br />No almond extract - I didn’t have any. <br />Probably the best protein shake I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!<br />Don’t be afraid to experiment with this one.
