Garlic Shrimp Roll

Ingredients

Garlic Butter:

1 pound salted butter

3 ounces chopped fresh garlic 

1 ounce dried basil 

1 ounce dried oregano 

Shrimp Roll:

Six 16/20 Gulf shrimp, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper

Splash white wine 

1/2 fresh lemon 

1 New England style split-top hot dog roll, lightly buttered and toasted on a flat top or in a frying pan 

Directions

  1. For the garlic butter: Melt butter in a saucepan until clear. Mix in garlic, basil and oregano. Bring to about 200 degrees F so the ingredients are evenly mixed. Remove from heat. Let cool, mixing occasionally, to ensure ingredients remain suspended evenly throughout the butter.
  2. For the shrimp roll: Heat a saute pan with 1 ounce garlic butter (save the remaining garlic butter for another use).
  3. Saute shrimp until solid in texture, then add white wine to deglaze the pan. Drizzle lemon juice over dish and place shrimp in toasted roll.
