Spiked Strawberry Jalapeño Lemonade

Ingredients
2 ounces Strawberry Jalapeño Syrup, recipe follows
2 ounces blanco tequila
4 to 6 ounces bottled sparkling lemonade
1 thinly sliced lemon wheel
Strawberry Jalapeño Syrup:
1 pound strawberries, hulled and halved
1 large jalapeño, sliced thin
1 cup lemon juice
2/3 cup sugar
Directions
Special equipment:
a hand blender- Fill a 12-ounce glass with ice. Add the Strawberry Jalapeño Syrup and tequila. Stir gently with a spoon. Top with the sparkling lemonade. Garnish the glass with the lemon wheel and enjoy.
Strawberry Jalapeño Syrup:
- Add the strawberries, jalapeño, lemon juice and sugar to a small saucepan. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer, stirring to help dissolve the sugar. Let simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, then remove from the heat. Puree using a hand blender. Set aside and let cool for 30 minutes.
