Steel-Cut Oats

Ingredients

2 cups steel-cut oats

1 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups boiling water

1 cup milk, warmed

Toasted pecans, for topping, optional

Golden raisins, for topping, optional

Pinch light brown sugar, for topping, optional

Directions

  1. Combine the oats and salt in a pot and stir to combine. Add the boiling water and milk and bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 30 minutes on low, without stirring, then stir and cook for 5 minutes more. Serve with toasted pecans, golden raisins and brown sugar if desired.

This is a great simple recipe.  I added more liquid but it is a good basi recipe
