Sunny's Gin and Juice Spritzer

Ingredients
Syrup:
Zest of 1 orange
1 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
Drink:
6 ounces gin (I like Tanqueray or Beefeater for this recipe)
Orange-flavored or plain seltzer or sparkling water, to top
Directions
- For the syrup: In a small pot over medium-high heat, add the orange zest and juice along with the brown sugar. Cook, stirring, until the liquid is reduced and thickened to a syrup. Remove from heat, strain out the zest and chill the syrup. Refrigerate up to 1 week in an airtight container.
- For the drink: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice, add 3 to 4 ounces of orange syrup and the gin. Shake vigorously, then pour into 4 ice-filled glasses, leaving 1 inch of space at the top. Add some bubbly water to each. Gently stir and serve.
