Ingredients

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons whole milk

2 large eggs

1 cup store-bought fried onions, chopped into finer pieces

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/2 pound green beans, trimmed

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper.
  2. Set up a dredging station: Place the flour in a medium bowl. Whisk together the milk and eggs in a second medium bowl. Stir together the onion pieces, panko, salt and pepper in a third medium bowl.
  3. Dip the green beans first into the flour to coat, shaking off any excess flour, then dip the beans in the egg mixture to coat. Finally, dip the beans into the panko-onion mixture and place the green beans on the prepared sheet tray, about 1/4-inch apart.
  4. Bake the green beans, turning them over halfway through baking, until they are golden and crispy, 12 to 15 minutes. Transfer to a platter and serve immediately.

Yumm! Those are tasty and fun. I blanched a bunch of beans earlier today and put these the fridge for dinner tonight. I came across this recipe and it is very tasty! I would serve with a dip. Like a chipolte may or similar. Alone, they are still EXCELLENT!! Thank you!
