Very Berry Fruit Salad

Ingredients

1 pint strawberries, hulled and cut in half

1 pint blueberries

1 pint raspberries

1 tablespoon good balsamic vinegar

1/4 cup sugar

Fresh mint, for garnish

Directions

  1. Place 6 glasses in the refrigerator.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the berries, vinegar and sugar. Stir gently. Cover securely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Spoon the berries into the chilled glasses. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

I used 2T. of sugar which we found to be plenty.  This ever so simple recipe elevates berries to a whole new level!  It can be made more than an hour ahead and the berries are still good.  The next time I make this I will try 2T. of balsamic.
