Owner and pitmaster Matt Gfroerer, a New Hampshire native, learned his craft while living in Austin and describes Smokeshow as "a little bit of the South with a lot of New England attitude." His menu includes barbecue’s greatest hits — ribs, brisket, turkey and pulled pork —along with Southern sides like mac and cheese, collards and cornbread. Perhaps the best-known dish here, however, is the Finn Jack Frito Pie: Fritos and baked beans, plus brisket, turkey and pork chopped up and sauteed in a homemade sauce, all topped with cheese and sour cream.
