Cut store-bought pie dough into holiday shapes and fry in 350 degree vegetable oil until golden. Cool on paper towels and dust with confectioners' sugar.

    These are so easy and tasty! As a previous reviewer said, these are great if you already love fried dough (like me. I put just a couple inches of veggie oil in a small saucepan to make these with some leftover pie dough which worked fine and had virtually no mess! Don't bother using a ton of oil and risking splashes and burns.

    So easy. So yummy. I look forward to dusting them with a little cinnamon sugar next time I make them!

    This is basically nothing more than carnival food, such as elephant ears. And now I know why they charge so much for them...what a mess to make! If fried dough is your thing, go for it, but I'd rather make a dozen other cookies than these again. Taste is just okay, and they are greasy and messy. Not worth it to me.
