- 2 ham hocks
- 3 pounds green beans
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 pounds small red new potatoes
- 2 tablespoons seasoned salt

In a large pot, fill with enough water to just cover ham hocks and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Add beans and sugar and continue cooking another 25 minutes. Add meat back to the pot, add salt and pepper, to taste, and serve.

Interesting! Never put sugar in my beans, but it makes sense. I used a leftover ham bone from our Easter ham (Honey Baked. Keep in mind that the exposed ham looses it's flavor though - so if you are adding sliced or cubed ham, I would just add it at the end. The ham on the bone with skin on keeps it flavor.
