Ingredients
  • 12 whole chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons garlic salt
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh Greek oregano leaves
  • 2 cups Blue Cheese Dressing, recipe follows
Directions

Rinse the chicken wings under cold running water, then drain and blot dry completely with paper towels. Place the wings in a large bowl and sprinkle with the garlic salt, pepper, cayenne, and oregano. Season just 1 side of the wings for mild, or for hotter wings, turn the wings to coat the other side with seasonings and then cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

Preheat a grill to medium-high.

Grill chicken wings, turning once, until the juices run clear when pierced with a fork. Serve immediately with a side of Blue Cheese Dressing.

Blue Cheese Dressing:

1/4 pound blue cheese

1 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2/3 cup evaporated milk

1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon celery seed

Blend all ingredients together in a food processor. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.

I'm not usually such a fan of chicken but these were fantastic! I broiled them instead of grilling (life in an apartment). item not reviewed by moderator and published
WAY too much pepper. The worst wings that we have ever had. Went in the trash. We ate celery stix with the dressing that was not any better than the Litehouse brand. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is my go to receipe for chicken wings. I use about half the cayenne. The fresh oregano is a must. Letting them sit overnight adds to the flavor and crispness. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Good recipie, but it really needs hot sauce. item not reviewed by moderator and published
These wings are healthy and delectable. They are easy to make and extremely great tasting. Plus there is no unhealthy messy frying involved. Thes sauce is the best blue chesse sause I have ever tasted. If you don't like blue cheese you will now. I strongly recomend you try this recipe out as soon as you have the time. It does take a while to make if you are one of those busy types. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Wonderful...we love these!!! Very Spicy. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I absolutely love hot and spicy wings. Always looking for new ideas. Removed the skin to allow the seasonings to penetrate (also makes them even less fattening than fried). Great smokey flavor. item not reviewed by moderator and published
The blue cheese dressing is also good. item not reviewed by moderator and published
amazing!!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
The wings by themselves are great. The dressing needs thickening. I cut the cayenne in half because not everyone like their food that spicy and they still have a kick after you bite into them. The recipe is too easy and I always get good reviews from everyone who tries them. item not reviewed by moderator and published
