Call it what you will-authentic, americanized or hotel style-this is delicious! Do try it if you enjoy sashimi. I cut the... Furukake down to one teaspoon for my taste. Will definitely make again!Read more

I never discovered what the recommended Japanese spice was, instead used one that included seaweed and dried egg, I guess its... supposed to be a table spice. (from oriental store) Even without it, if you love raw tuna, this is delightful. Chopped macadamia nuts work for the nuts listed in the recipe, couldn't find those either.Read more

    Americanized Ahi Poke

I'm not sure to which "Local Style" you refer, but the blasphemous use of brown sugar, might work for people who are afraid... of trying raw fish. Also, the Japanese Furikake (NOT fuRUkake) is an interesting concept that, again, might make the ahi poke more palatable for first-timers, but please, know that the Hawaiians and locals from Hawai'i would have a difficult time choking this version down with their poi.Read more

    Hotel Style-Not Local Style

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
No respectable Hawaiian would use brown sugar and furukake in a poke recipe. This is obviously a hotel or restaurant style... recipe - not one from a real Hawaiian home. Don't mislead people by using these titles on recipes.Read more
