Ingredients

3 large ripe Hass avocados, peeled, pitted and quartered

1 large jalapeno chile, finely chopped (seeded if you prefer mild heat)

1 clove garlic, finely grated

1/4 white onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves and tender stems

2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, plus more as needed

Kosher salt

Tortilla chips, for serving

Directions

 1. Smash the avocados with a potato masher or fork in a medium bowl or molcajete (a Mexican mortar and pestle) until very coarsely mashed. Stir in the chile, garlic, onions, cilantro, lime juice and 1 teaspoon salt. Taste and add more lime juice and salt if needed. Let the guacamole sit for 10 minutes to let the flavors come together. Serve at room temperature with chips.

I cut the lime juice just a touch and added the difference in lemon juice also substituted red pepper flakes for the jalepeno for a tad less heat.
