Ingredients

1 large red onion

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the grill or a grill pan.
  2. Peel the onion and slice it into 1/3-inch thick rounds. Brush the onion slices with oil and grill over medium heat, until the onions soften and get grill marks, about 6 minutes on each side. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

I made this as a full meal (the steak, grilled onions, relish and garlic fries) and LOVED the entire meal. The flavor on the steak was delicious and spicy, the grilled onions and relish were great alongside the steak and the fries were AWESOME (they definitely rival the traditional fried version).
