Ingredients
2 teaspoons lemon, lime, berry blue, orange or strawberry gelatin powder, plus more for the glass
1 lemon wedge
2 ounces vodka or gin
1 ounce fresh lemon or lime juice (or a mix)
1/2 ounce simple syrup
Directions
- Spread some gelatin powder on a plate. Run a lemon wedge generously around the rim of a lowball glass, then press in the gelatin powder to coat.
- Combine 2 teaspoons gelatin powder (in the same flavor) and 1 tablespoon hot water in a cocktail shaker and stir to dissolve. Add the vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup, then add ice. Shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds.
- Fill the rimmed glass with fresh ice and strain the cocktail into the glass.
Cook’s Note
To make simple syrup, heat equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves; let cool.
