Slow-Cooker Chile Con Queso

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

3 tablespoons chili powder 

1 teaspoon garlic powder 

One 32-ounce block processed cheese, such as Velveeta, cubed 

One 16-ounce jar salsa 

Tortilla chips, for serving 

Directions

  1. Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, 10 to 15 minutes. Add the chili powder and garlic powder and stir to combine. Add 1/4 cup water and let simmer until evaporated.
  2. Transfer the beef to a slow cooker. Stir in the cheese and salsa. Cover and let cook on high until melted, about 1 hour.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips.

Would have been good if it wasn’t so salty! Must be the cheese. Maybe adding the milk helps.
