Ingredients
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
9 Earl Grey tea bags
2 cups (16 ounces) vodka
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (from about 9 large lemons) plus 1 lemon cut into 1/4-inch wheels
1/2 hothouse cucumber, cut into thin rounds
Directions
- In a medium pot, bring 6 cups water to a simmer over medium heat. Remove the pot from the heat, then add the sugar and stir to dissolve. Add the tea bags. Let the tea steep until dark brown, 6 to 8 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags. Refrigerate the tea until chilled, 1 to 2 hours.
- In a large pitcher, combine the tea with the vodka and lemon juice, stirring to blend. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours and up to 24 hours. Stir again before serving.
- Add ice cubes to highball glasses. Pour the spiked Earl Grey lemonade over the ice, then garnish with the lemon wheels and cucumber rounds. Serve immediately.
