Up at about 1,200 feet of elevation, Angora Lakes Resort in South Lake Tahoe has been serving fresh-squeezed lemonade and lemonade ice pops, made from California lemons, since it opened in the 1920s. These lemonade pops are not easily obtained treats, as cars are not allowed to drive up the final stretch of winding mountain dirt road to reach the resort. Instead, you have to hike your way to try the famous icy treats. The pops — and experiencing the beauty of Angora Lake — are well worth the steep climb.
